[Gallery] Buffalo City Metro youth participate in A 6-month GBVF programme

East London, 08 September- 200 young women from areas around Buffalo City Metropolitan Municipality were recruited to participate in a 6-month-long programme that will accelerate the fight against Gender-Based Violence and Femicide. The young women also known as Community Influencers, will be working hand in hand with Masimanyane Women's Rights International to conduct GBV campaigns, intergenerational dialogues and talks among other activities, in their respective communities.

This programme will not only benefit these young women but will be beneficial to the entire city, particularly the areas Reeston, Ndevana, Mdantsane, Duncan Village, Mzamomhle, Khayelitsha, Nxarhuni, and Amalinda Forest. The programme will also promote economic empowerment for the 200 young women as they will be getting a stipend for the work done. Women's economic empowerment is a crucial tool to promote equality and reduce GBVF. GBVF is a problem that continues to pervade our communities, which is why we need all collective efforts possible to prevent and eradicate the scourge.
