The brutal killing of Namhla Mtwa, who was shot 9 times, has yet again brought GBVF into a national spotlight. Political parties and gender activities are calling for the arrest of the person who shot and killed the employee of the OR Tambo District Municipality, Namhla Mtwa. Gender Based Violence and Femicide continues to be a problem in this country. Women and Children are being killed and raped every single day. Gender activists are urging SAPS to take cases of GBV seriously and give perpetrators harsh punishments.
