To address the plight of gender-based violence and promote social cohesion in the Buffalo City Metro in the Eastern Cape, Masimanyane Women's Rights International has launched a football league for young girls.
The Ibhola Ekhatywayo Ngamantombazana (Women's Football) initiative aims to prevent the scourge of femicide by using girls' soccer to create safe spaces for healthy and purposeful participation while promoting social cohesion in local communities.
It's offering young girls the skills, confidence, and opportunities to thrive in a sporting world often dominated by men.
