Sisters In Strength Club from Unit-P

In this session the young women outlined some of the issues they would like to tackle and address in their community. Those include, speaking to young people about the dangers of substance abuse, birth control and teenage pregnancy, assisting others to apply for school and jobs, conducting inter-generational dialogues with older women and young women and to raise awareness about Gender Based Violence and Femicide.

Women’s clubs are established to a create safe space for young women to come together and talk about things that affect them and their experiences of GBV. To empower young women and adolescent girls to be bold and independent women who will always show assertiveness towards issues of gender discrimination. Lastly, to train them on how to run these clubs so that they can be able to sustain them on their own.
